Short switching cycles, high durability, compact design and good compatibility with viscous media. Those were the requirements of the Hungarian subsidiary of a German automotive supplier for RSG’s coaxial valves. The customer requested coaxial valves with a nominal size of DN40 and DN50 to be used in an oil supply system which fills the automatic car transmissions of a large German automobile manufacturer with oil. In this case it is very important that the right quantity of oil is dosed to the transmissions at extremely precise time intervals. Several million switching cycles can be realized with RSG’s coaxial valves. Therefore, they are operated with significantly less wear and friction than commonly used valves. In search of suitable products, the Hungarian company contacted RSG and stated the necessary operating parameters. In addition to the general requirements, the customer requested the coaxial valves to be equipped with a flange instead of the commonly used threaded connection. The customer further wanted a position request via inductive limit switches. Thanks to RSG’s modular system, RSG was able to submit a quotation including the requested specifications already on the following day based on the coaxial valve of the 270 series. Special development work was not necessary for conducting this order but a mere combination of existing modular elements. “This method has the advantage that we are able to quickly offer a customized and also proven solution to our customers – and at very attractive prices”, explains Vitali Gerlach, member of the technical sales team. “We certainly like developing special solutions as well but our modular system Ventilutions which has been further developed for many years allows for a quicker and less expensive way to help our customers”, the industrial engineer points out. The customer liked it and ordered the coaxial valves for its production line already on the following day. The valves have been used there since January 2018.
